An Arian born in 1952 and a graduate in arts from Osmania University . Lalit Pohankar is a student of the renowned Hyderabad artist & poet Mr. Narender Rai., under whose able guidance she has learnt the various facets of painting and earned her expertise in the media of Oil and Water Colour.

She has conducted various solo and group exhibitions.A few of them are
1973 - Paintings on Ragas of Hindustani Music at Kala Bhavan, Hyderabad .
1974 - Landscapes & Forms of God, Group exhibition at Delhi .
1981 - Still Life and Landscapes at Art Society, Hyderabad .
